Integrating query and hypertext modeling in web information systems development

چکیده
MIDAS is a model-driven methodology for Web Information Systems development based on the OMG’s Model Driven Architecture. It proposes to use UML to describe different views of the system. For PIM and PSM levels, MIDAS defines different aspects including content, hypertext and functionality, and, for each aspect, it also defines models and mappings between them. Content Models represent how the information is internally structured in the system. Hypertext Models represents how to organize the information to be presented to the user by means of Web pages, and how to navigate between such Web pages. Such organization and navigation usually imply to query a database. In this paper we propose, at PIM level, represent the semantics of such queries associated to hypertext models by means of a set of Query Models.

Hybrid Analysis and Design Model for Building Web Information System
The World Wide Web has become a highly adopted platform for Web applications. The traditional structured systems analysis and design as well as object oriented analysis and design (UML) cannot capture all the requirements of the e-Commerce Applications. There are various web-engineering techniques used to capture the requirements of web Applications, but there is no silver bullet to capture all...
متن کاملDeveloping a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information
With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...
متن کاملIntegrating Web Conceptual Modeling and Web Usage Mining
We present a case study about the application of the inductive database approach to the analysis of Web logs. We consider rich XMLWeb logs – called conceptual logs – that are generated byWeb applications designed with the WebML conceptual model and developed with the WebRatio CASE tool. Conceptual logs integrate the usual information about user requests with meta-data concerning the structure o...
متن کاملOntology-Based Query Expansion for Supporting Information Retrieval in Agriculture
The demand for relevant knowledge related to effective and efficient agricultural development has increased tremendously recently in all over the world. The web can be considered as a distributed mass of simple hypertext pages and this gives rise not only to the redundancy of information but also difficulty in managing the relationship among the concepts of information. Thus, a formal way to re...
متن کاملBrowsing local and global information
Current World Wide Web browsers, e.g., Mosaic and Netscape, support users primarily in the task of browsing the Internet. In some situations, users want to explore topics for which relevant informationmay reside both on a large local database and on the Web. The MultiSurf project seeks to deal with these situations by integrating text browsing of a local database with hypertext browsing of the ...
